The formal trade of canton El Carmen and its contribution to employment generation

The formal trade in the El Carmen canton is distinguished by the presence of activities of exchanging goods and services in established stalls or premises, where different articles that encompass commerce, itself are displayed. This canton becomes a creator of small and medium-sized enterprises and is a fundamental driver in job creation. Therefore, the objective of this article is to analyze the formal trade in the center of the city of El Carmen and its contribution to job generation, which allowed for the expansion of the vision on the study variables through a descriptive, deductive, and inductive research using statistical procedures for handling quantitative data such as data collection, counting, presentation, synthesis, and analysis. Through the survey of formal traders in the center of the city of El Carmen with a total population of 4400 traders and a sample of 367 respondents, it was evidenced that this activity generates 1 to 2 job positions in 77.66%, 3 to 4 positions in 16.62%, and 5 to 6 positions in 5.72%, being a sector of great relevance to the local economy.
