The "Book à la Carte" program, developed by the Technical University of Manabí, proposes an innovative strategy to promote reading by creatively combining literature and gastronomy, contributing to the enrichment of university academic and cultural life. The initiative fosters an encounter between the university community and contemporary Manabí writers when presenting the "typical dish of the house." This format is beneficial for the university community, promotes the development of soft skills, and strengthens the interdisciplinary nature of the program, demonstrating its value as a resource for comprehensive education. The program demonstrates replicability and sustainability for promoting reading within the university environment, and also facilitates critical reading and the participation of all members of the community.
KEYWORDS: Reading promotion; literary menu; Manabí identity; cultural innovation; reading promotion.
