Abstract

Process management is defined as the tool applied to the organizational field that consolidates knowledge about how to better manage the design and/or redesign of business processes, as well as the development of a basic capacity for process management in organizations that serve a variety of purposes and contexts inherent to them. At present, the influence that information technologies have on business performance is fundamental, becoming an agile and operational tool that allows the prominence of improvement in process management by supporting a management system with an approach based on in continuous improvement, with the automation of processes and services. This article is developed based on the bibliographic review of articles related to process management and the application of information technologies for organizational automation and optimization. With the documentary review, it can be determined that there is a considerable variety of software solutions that serve as tools for process management, facilitating the design, modeling, execution, supervision, and optimization of business processes, representing great support in each one. of the management stages of these. Consequently, for organizations it is important to consider the adequacy of their technological infrastructure for the implementation or development of software for the automation of processes, aimed at process mining, which allows the construction of processes adjusted to the requirements of the users and based on the use cases and demand for products or services. Finally, the selection process of a technological solution must be carried out considering the characteristics of the services or products offered, the structure of the organization's value chain, and the dynamics with clients or users, where the applications adapt to the organization, and not to the organization to the logic of the modules of the systems that are available in the market, since this causes a setback in the vision of approach by processes within the organizations.
