Formación continua en Geriatría: avances en la atención integral al adulto mayor
Continuing education in Geriatrics: advances in comprehensive care for older adults

El envejecimiento de la población mundial ha generado la necesidad de fortalecer la formación continua en geriatría para garantizar una atención integral y de calidad a los adultos mayores. Este estudio sigue el método PRISMA para realizar una revisión sistemática sobre los avances en la educación geriátrica y su impacto en la práctica clínica. Se identificaron 757 registros en bases de datos académicas, de los cuales se seleccionaron 60 estudios relevantes. Los resultados destacan que los programas de formación geriátrica, como los GWEPs y el modelo geriátrico 4M, han mejorado la competencia profesional y la calidad de la atención. Además, las estrategias educativas innovadoras, como la telemedicina y los cursos interactivos, han demostrado ser efectivas. Sin embargo, persisten desafíos en la accesibilidad a estos programas, especialmente en áreas rurales. Se concluye que la inclusión de tecnologías digitales y la colaboración interinstitucional son clave para fortalecer la formación geriátrica y mejorar la atención del adulto mayor.
