Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has established itself in the new technological era as an effective tool for performing tasks that used to require human intelligence. AI has revolutionized several areas; among them, libraries, where it has generated the possibility of automating processes such as the organization of collections, services and personalized user attention through chatbots. The research focused on analyzing the impact of AI in libraries, for this, a qualitative approach was applied based on a systematic review of scientific articles published from 2021 to 2025 in ERIC, Google Scholar and Scopus databases. This study reveals the importance of the use of AI in libraries in three main areas; the attention of users through chatbots, the automation of internal processes (administrative tasks, classification of collections and document organization) and the personalization of services through recommendation systems. In this context, the application of AI in libraries is shown as a transformative resource that not only optimizes processes, but also improves the user experience and broadens access to information.
