the activities of linking with society at the Technical University of Manabí

Abstract

In this paper carries out a historical review about what the university extension activities have been done before the promulgation of the Substantive Law of Higher Education. Subsequently, a list of the faculties of the Universidad Técnica de Manabí is drawn up in order to list the programs and projects that have been carried out since 2011 to 2018 and then to make an analysis of what happened in each year related with the variables that were presented. As a result of that analysis, a gradual decrease is obtained both in the number of programs and in the number of linkage projects since 2011 to 2018, which are justified due to the inexperience of the institution staff in the first years in the realization of linkage projects. The performance of this activities in this area has left new knowledge each year which are a way to improve the processes where quality has a significant importance over quantity every single time. Linkage projects according to the needs of society has being developed, adjusted to the lines of research and with the participation of teachers, students and the community. In conclusion, the activities of community outreach continue being as important as they were in the year 2011. However, over the years we have tried to be more efficient with the resources in in order to achieve a significant impact to solve the community needs with the proposals that have been obtained.
