Abstract

The  social  and  solidarity  economy  are  directly  related  to  the associative  work,  community  and  cooperative,  these  are  oriented to humanize the activity that develops the human being, the work, through this activity relates to the production, distribution and consumption  of  goods  and  services.  Before  the  failure  of neoliberalism, the social and solidarity economy is posited as a valid  alternative  for  society  to  advance. In  Ecuador  from  2008, which approved the new Constitution, it is established, that the economic  system  in  Ecuador  is  social  and  supportive,  places  the human being as the subject and the end, this tends to a balanced relationship  between  society,  State  and  market,  in  harmony  with nature.  The  aim  of  the  present  study  is  to  try  to  determine  in what  way  and  in  what  proportion,  the  “Popular  Economy  and Solidarity”  has  been  consolidated.  For  this  purpose,  we  conduct surveys  and  interviews  with  opinion  leaders  and  members  of popular economic units.
