Lean Techniques and Lead Time of failure resolution process in SD-WAN process

The objective of the research was to evaluate the impact of the combined application of Lean Visual Management and Standard Operating Procedures techniques on the Cycle Time of the Fault Resolution process in Software-Defined Wide Area Networks of a telecommunications service provider. The pre- and post-application stages lasted ten weeks each. The results showed a 27% reduction in Cycle Time, the statistical analysis carried out with the paired t-test showed that the result is statistically significant, with which it was concluded that the Lean techniques applied are alternatives for improvement to reduce operational variability and accelerate the resolution of failures in Software-Defined Wide Area Network environments. The results provide a framework for other organizations to adapt the techniques used in projects to improve their critical processes.
