Fossil fuel combustion alters atmospheric composition, releasing significant volumes of gases with local and global impacts. To quantify global daily emissions of Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide based on energy consumption data and standardized emission factors. Data from the International Energy Agency (2022) and IPCC methodologies (2006) were used to estimate emissions through standardized conversion factors. Fossil fuel burning produces approximately 100.6 million metric tons of Carbon dioxide and 1.1 million metric tons of carbon monoxide daily. These emissions represent a dual challenge: mitigating a long-lived greenhouse gas (CO₂) and controlling a short-lived pollutant with acute health and atmospheric chemistry effects (CO). Integrated policies and energy transition are required.
