Technology in the production of agricultural SMEs in Portoviejo

The Portoviejo canton, made up of urban and rural parishes, the latter have fertile land that has allowed them to contribute to job sources and boost the economy of these sectors. This article is the result of research carried out on a significant number of agricultural SMEs that are located in these parishes and the objective is to analyze the influence of technology on the production of agricultural SMEs. The methodology corresponds to the qualitative approach, which allows understanding the dynamics in the decision making of managers, the sources of financing; The information was obtained through interviews with the people in charge of the management and the credit advisors of the local banking entities and surveys. The results show that the SMEs that have introduced technology obtained better levels of production and economic results, managing to stay in the market in the medium and long term.
