Profitability of Business Models of Public Companies in Manabí. Case Manabí Vial E.P.

Abstract

The objective of this article is part of analyzing the profitability of the business models of the Public Company MANABÍ VIAL E.P., during the fiscal periods between the years 2019 and 2022, as well as the most important financial factors that influenced the utility or loss achieved such as the behavior of income, operating costs, current assets, current liabilities and cash flow. In the present work, an investigation with a quantitative and documentary approach was analyzed to analyze the financial information of the company contained in the balance sheets and income statement to then calculate the profitability generated in the years 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 through the application of financial indices, as well as the behavior of the variables that intervened in the level of profitability achieved. The results obtained show that the company registers negative values in all profitability indicators in the years 2020, 2021 and 2022, concluding that these negative results are related to the change in the business model that the company experienced from the year 2020. , where it increased 3 lines of business as a result of new powers that were granted by the Provincial Government of Manabí.
