Un sistema de categorías para la caracterización de incubadoras de empresas universitarias

Las incubadoras de empresas se han convertido en instrumentos clave en la gestión de la innovación y el emprendimiento, principalmente en el sector académico. Se definió como el propósito de este artículo identificar un sistema de características o categorías propias de los procesos de incubación a partir del estudio de experiencias exitosas de incubadoras de empresas universitarias incluidas en el University-Linked Business IncubatorsGlobal Ranking. Se utilizó como método el estudio de casosmúltiplesy como herramienta el análisis de contenidos. Los resultados permitieron identificar 6 categorías con sus subcategorías, mostrando que los programas de incubación son diversos, siendo fundamental la adecuación de estos a las necesidades de los proyectos para su desarrollo. Existen servicios básicos ofrecidos por todas las incubadorasimprescindibles para el proceso de incubación,perolos procesos y pasos varían de una a otra incubadora. Se puede concluir que la propuesta contribuye al estudio comparativo de casos y establece las bases para investigaciones futuras sobre la identificación de buenas prácticas en la incubación empresarial universitaria.
