Family violence and resilience in adolescents from a public institution in the Department of Ayacucho, Perú

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between family violence and resilience in adolescents from a public institution in the department of Ayacucho belonging to a VRAEM area. Likewise, it seeks to identify the relationship between the dimensions of the variables. The research is of a basic and correlational type with a non-experimental design and we worked with a sample of 238 adolescents aged between 11 and 17 years. Regarding the instruments, the Family Violence Questionnaire (CVIFA) and the Resilience Scale were used. The results showed that there is no relationship between family violence and resilience, but according to sex there is a significant difference in the violence variable (p=.041) and its psychological dimension (p=.005), where women perceive a higher level of family violence. In addition, regarding the work of the fathers, the children of those mothers who work present greater psychological violence.
