Abstract

The ontology of Cuban Ecclesial Reflection was a process that occurred from 1981 to 1985, which structured fundamental categories to understand Catholic thought in Cuba after 1959. Therefore, the objective of this essay was to show the contributions of this process in the formation of a new epistemology for the Catholic subject of the Island in dialogue with the theological currents that had been promoted since Vatican II (1962-1965) and the Episcopal Conferences of Medellín (1968) and Puebla (1979). Dialectical and historical-philosophical methods were used to establish the arguments, which is evident in several of the approaches presented, which served as a basis for the questioning of testimonies and the opportunity to create a symbiosis between information with unpublished documents and the review of updated information sources on the subject, in order to obtain criteria for exchange on the rationality of an ecumenical narrative in the relationship between Catholicism and the Revolution.
