Publication ethics

ReHuSo Journal is committed to the scientific community of the humanities and social sciences by ensuring the quality and ethics of its manuscripts. Furthermore, it responds to the needs of both authors and readers, always taking into account the quality of its publications, the content, and the integrity of each manuscript. Thus, the editorial board is committed, if warranted, to publishing corrections, clarifications, retractions, and, if necessary, apologies, depending on the case.

- The case will be addressed by the editorial committee within one week of the complaint.

- If, after the above process, a judicial appeal is filed, the journal will address the case with the legal department of the institution that maintains the journal, which is the Technical University of Manabí.

- If no judicial action is taken, the author will be informed of the decision through the OJS platform and the institutional email.

Conflict of Interest Policies

ReHuSo Journal cordially requests that its authors specify in their submissions that there are no conflicts of interest regarding kinship, familiarity, or friendship with the editor-in-chief or any member of the editorial board.

Data Sharing and Reproducibility Policies

ReHuSo Journal is committed to the open science ecosystem, which is reflected in all published research, which, like its data, is available openly, thus contributing to the growth in the number and quality of open scientific publications. Regarding information sharing, the only publicly available data is that of the editorial board, and the names and contact information of the authors. ReHuSo does not sell any data to third parties.

Journal Options for Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections

The following procedure is followed for handling post-publication discussions and corrections:

- Any corrections that need to be implemented in a research project after publication must be communicated by the authors.
- Once the editor-in-chief receives the authors' communication, they notify the proofreader, who implements the requested changes to the manuscript.
- Once the correction process is complete, the editor-in-chief updates all galleys related to the submission on the OJS (Open Journal Systems) platform.

On Bioethics and Consent for Participation/Publication, and Anonymous Participation

At ReHuSo, we are committed to transparency, honesty, and quality in our editorial processes. Therefore, in accordance with the UNESCO Universal Declaration of Bioethics and Human Rights, the following points are specified:

- The manuscript evaluation process is guaranteed to be confidential. This includes the anonymity of both reviewers and authors; as well as the anonymity of the reviewed content; the review score; and the reviewers' comments.

- Any complaint or complaint from any author that they wish to raise with the ReHuSo team will be treated anonymously.

- Any scientific research that involves the disclosure of information from a human group must have the consent of that group for publication. In the case of individuals with a legal representative from their community, a collective agreement, the consent of a leader, or a legal agreement must be in place.

- In the event that a person lacks the capacity to give consent for research, manuscripts will be published that have consent within the legal framework, which guarantees that the subject(s) of the study have been treated with a minimum amount of coercion and risks to their health, thus protecting human vulnerability.

Non-discrimination and Gender Equality Policy

At ReHuSo, we are committed to the fundamental principles of Open Science. Therefore, we call on authors to ensure that any manuscripts addressing gender issues do so in a non-discriminatory manner and always with the inclusion of these social actors in mind. Any treatment or exposition of their ideology is justified in the methodology, results, and conclusions.

Artificial Intelligence Use Policy

The current use and usefulness of generative artificial intelligence is undeniable, but at ReHuSo we are aware that editorial policies are needed to guarantee its ethical use not only in the manuscripts submitted to the journal, but also in the editorial processes. In this regard, the following guidelines are specified:

- The manuscript's methodology must clearly and explicitly indicate whether AI tools have been used, indicating which one and for what purpose.
- The AI tool used cannot be counted in any way as a co-author of the document.
- The veracity of the data must be protected; therefore, no AI tool should be used to falsify data or results.
- Documents generated entirely by AI or that do not comply with the aforementioned points will be immediately rejected.

- If you are going to cite an AI model, you must take into account the guidelines provided by the American Psychological Association (APA) for citing generative artificial intelligence models, which are detailed at the following link: https://apastyle.apa.org/blog/how-to-cite-chatgpt
- Any use of an AI tool by the journal team will be explicitly reported to the authors, thus safeguarding the integrity of the manuscript.
- The editorial team uses and will continue to use the similarity detection software Compilatio to determine whether or not a manuscript has been written using AI.
