Resumo

O principal objetivo deste trabalho de investigação foi analisar a literatura científica dos últimos 5 anos relacionada com a variável ética profissional dos professores. O estudo baseou-se numa revisão descritiva da literatura, tendo sido utilizados artigos académicos como principal fonte de dados. Foram pesquisadas as bases de dados Scopus, Scielo, Redalyc e Eric. Até julho de 2024, foram identificados 73 estudos na Scopus, 18 na Scielo, 21 na Redalyc e 25 na Eric, num total de 137 estudos. Após um exaustivo cruzamento de documentos, os artigos foram descartados de acordo com os critérios de inclusão, resultando numa amostra de 15 estudos, 11 qualitativos, 3 transversais e um descritivo. Os resultados mostram que em 3 pesquisas a variável ética profissional docente é definida como um conjunto de ações, um processo ou o compromisso com a função docente, apresentando dimensões da variável, como responsabilidade, honestidade, justiça, igualdade, empatia, fidelidade, entre outras. Estas dimensões ou pilares são fundamentais para melhorar as más práticas de ensino, como o uso inadequado da tecnologia na sala de aula, o sexting e a discriminação. A ética profissional dos educadores enfrenta inúmeros desafios, desde a compreensão à implementação, o que sublinha a necessidade de abordar várias práticas que podem pôr em causa a qualidade da educação.
