Connections in wooden frames can be made in various ways, and in traditional construction methods, there is one known as the dovetail joint. Experimental testing provides the most useful information for analyzing the structural behavior of the joint. Tectona Grandis was chosen due to its widespread use in our region. Horizontal loads were applied at the lintel level in a cyclic manner according to ASTM E2126-19. Deformations were recorded using LVDT transducers and Strain Gauges at appropriate locations. The results showed a concentration of deformations at the supported joints, indicating semi-rigid behavior of the connections. Given the type of material, the tested specimens exhibited variation in the parameters studied. Despite this, the assemblies were shown to perform favorably under the applied loads due to their ability to redistribute loads and dissipate energy.
