Formación continua en Geriatría: avances en la atención integral al adulto mayor

Resumo

O envelhecimento da população mundial gerou a necessidade de reforçar a educação contínua em geriatria para garantir uma assistência integral e de qualidade aos idosos. Este estudo segue o método PRISMA para realizar uma revisão sistemática dos avanços na educação geriátrica e o seu impacto na prática clínica. Foram identificados 757 registos em bases de dados académicas, dos quais foram selecionados 60 estudos relevantes. Os resultados destacam que os programas de formação geriátrica, como os GWEPs e o modelo geriátrico 4M, melhoraram a competência profissional e a qualidade dos cuidados. Além disso, estratégias educativas inovadoras, como a telemedicina e os cursos interativos, têm-se mostrado eficazes. No entanto, persistem desafios na acessibilidade a estes programas, especialmente nas zonas rurais. Conclui-se que a inclusão das tecnologias digitais e a colaboração interinstitucional são fundamentais para fortalecer a formação geriátrica e melhorar os cuidados aos idosos.
