Abstract

The current transformations of the higher education model require the training of autonomous students who innovate in the face of the changing needs of society and the quality demands of education and the contemporary context. In particular, the training of engineers and architects plays a very important role in the construction of society. The movement of student assistants materializes in response to this demand, the deficit of university professors and the need to cover the educational teaching process with the required quality. This article comes from the Model project for the pedagogical training of student assistants, with the support of Information and Communication Technologies at the Technological University of Havana, José Antonio Echeverría, Cujae, which is currently being developed at the Reference Center for Advanced Education. The objective of this research was to characterize the current state of the movement of student assistants in La Cujae. For this, theoretical level methods have been used as a documentary, analytical-synthetic and systematization study, at an empirical level, the survey was used, and descriptive statistics, as a statistical method, to process results obtained in the preliminary investigation carried out. The information obtained in each one of the items allowed to know the difficulties that exist in the training of student assistants in this Institution, which merit the elaboration of a training strategy for these professionals.
