Psycho-socio-affective factors that limit the performance of people with disabilities cared for by the Rostro de Jesús foundation, 2018-2019

Job placement for people with disabilities is a challenge for their lives, their families and their organizations, due to the incidence of psychosocial and affective factors in their work performance. Based on this conception, an investigation was developed that aimed to evaluate the psychosocial and affective factors that impede the labor development of people with physical disabilities attended by the Rostro de Jesús Foundation from 2018-2019, in Manabí, Ecuador, to improve their quality of life in the economic and social sphere. A methodology was used with a mixed qualitative-quantitative approach, descriptive, prospective and transversal. It was possible to describe the affective state and the psychosocial conditions that affect work development, using the interview and the systematic analysis of medical records and bibliographic reviews. As a result of the psychosocial and affective analysis, it is identified that 41, 19% of people presented moderate depression; 47.05% adaptation problems and 11.76% manifested psychosomatic attitudes of anxiety. It is concluded that psychosocial and affective factors are determining processes in the adaptation and labor and economic inclusion of people with disabilities, and that family support helps to strengthen the resilience of these people.
