Blind Peer Review
Preliminary Evaluation
The Editorial Committee verifies the relevance of the document according to the journal's thematic areas and ensures it meets the formal and substantive requirements for a scientific publication (preliminary evaluation), as well as the characteristics requested in this guide. Then, the Committee decides if it should be sent for preliminary evaluation by one of the section editors and the General Editor. External support will be requested when necessary.
Manuscripts that meet the formal requirements of RECUS proceed with the editorial process. If the manuscript does not pass the preliminary review, the author will be informed of this result. If a manuscript is not accepted for evaluation but is relevant to the journal, the authors are invited to resubmit it after correcting the previously identified issues.
Blind Peer Review
If the manuscript is positively evaluated, it enters an arbitration process under a double-blind peer review system. The reviewers are experts in the manuscript's area of specialization. Based on the results of the manuscript evaluations, the following criteria are considered:
- Not publishable.
- Publishable with modifications, after which it must be re-evaluated.
- Publishable with modifications, without requiring re-evaluation.
- Accepted for publication.
When corrections are required, authors should accept them and return their document to the Editor through the journal's platform. The Editorial Committee verifies compliance with the observations and then decides on the publication acceptance. If the document is rejected, the reasons will be communicated to the authors. If the article is accepted for publication, the author must make the suggested corrections. In case of discrepancies or doubts regarding the content, the manuscript will undergo major revisions, and the opinion of a third reviewer will be requested.
The results of the arbitration are final. The Editor reviews the final version, corrects it, and sends it to the corresponding author for final layout approval. The Editorial Committee will inform the author of the evaluation result within a period not exceeding four months, through the journal’s Editor. If an article, once approved, cannot be published in any of the next two issues of the journal, the Editor will inform the author of the delay.
