El incremento de padres sobreprotectores caracterizados por un excesivo control en la vida de los hijos ha generado preocupación, debido a que limita su autonomía y disminuye su capacidad para tomar decisiones de forma independiente. En ese sentido, el objetivo del presente artículo es analizar los principales efectos emocionales y sociales que genera la crianza sobreprotectora en adultos emergentes. Para dicho propósito, se empleó un estudio de tipo documental con un método de análisis síntesis, a través de la revisión de 38 artículos indexados a Scopus, Web of Science, Scielo y Redalyc desde el año 2021 hasta el 2025. A partir de ello, se logró delimitar conceptos clave que permitieron analizar los efectos de este estilo de crianza. En el plano emocional, se observó la presencia de ansiedad y una identidad poco definida; mientras que, en el ámbito social, se evidenciaron problemas de dependencia, así como dificultades en las relaciones interpersonales. Esto propicia una reflexión, sobre la necesidad de fomentar prácticas parentales equilibradas, que favorezcan el desarrollo de los jóvenes como adultos funcionales en una sociedad contemporánea.
