Mastitis, fertility and efficiency of assisted reproduction biotechnologies in the tropics

La mastitis bovina es la enfermedad más importante desde el punto de vista económico en el ganado productor de leche. En este documento se exponen los hallazgos experimentales relacionados al efecto de esta afección en el comportamiento reproductivo y la eficiencia de las tecnologías de reproducción asistida de las vacas lecheras. Se presenta el probable mecanismo fisiopatológico mediante el cual esta dolencia ocasiona severos trastornos y se citan algunas de las estrategias disponibles para disminuir su prevalencia, así como mejorar la fertilidad de las vacas afectadas y la eficacia de las biotecnologías reproductivas y la fertilidad de la descendencia.
