Organizational culture and performance: Empirical evidence of SMEs in México

The objective of this research is to identify the relationship between organizational culture and organizational performance in SMEs in the manufacturing sector in the state of Tlaxcala, Mexico. The research is carried out under a quantitative, correlational, non-experimental and cross-sectional approach, where three small and two medium-sized companies that belong to the auto parts, food and metalworking subsectors are analyzed with
52 surveys. The information was collected through a questionnaire using the competency values framework for organizational culture and the balanced scorecard for organizational performance, applying Pearson’s correlation and simple linear regression. The authors found a significant positive correlation between organizational culture and organizational development, and a medium positive correlation between adhocratic and hierarchical clan culture with respect to organizational performance, and this study was based solely on employee opinion.
