Abstract

This work shows in detail the use of smartphones during the development of a General Physics laboratory practice. The objective of the work is to show the conception of a Physics II laboratory practice for the Industrial Engineering career with the help of the sensors that mobile devices have incorporated, assessing the importance of using them as an important measuring instrument for the development of experimental activities. The situation imposed by COVID-19 led to the need to switch to the distance learning modality through the Virtual Teaching-Learning Environments (EVEA) of the University of Holguín and in this context the use of telephones was very effective intelligent to continue the development of experimental activities. The experience was developed with the students of the second year of the Industrial Engineering career, during the first period (February-July) of the 2021 school year. The study was based on the use of the following methods, of the theoretical level, the analysis-synthesis used during the processing of the consulted information, the induction-deduction for the elaboration of the proposal. Within the empirical methods, the documentary review and the application of surveys to students were adopted to assess their level of satisfaction during the development of the activity. Finally, it concludes by indicating the possibilities of using smartphones in other laboratory practices.
