Capacidad de resiliencia y estrategias de afrontamiento en estudiantes de Enfermería durante la COVID-19

Introduction: the analysis of resilience in nursing students constitutes a cutoff point between what they have experienced and how they are able to manifest themselves from a circumstance such as the Covid 19 pandemic. Objective: to determine the resilience capacity and the coping strategies used by students during the Covid 19 pandemic. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out in the third quarter of 2021. The study population was made up of 11 students of the Bachelor of Nursing degree. To collect the information, the authorization of the authorities of the faculty was requested; then, the students were contacted, the objective and scope of the research were explained to them, and they were asked to voluntarily sign the informed consent. Two instruments were applied, the Wagnild and Young Resilience Scale, as well as the Modified Coping Scale. Results: both in Factor I Personal competence and in Factor II Self-acceptance, the dimensions personal satisfaction, equanimity and perseverance were the ones with the best scores. Conclusions: The resilience capacity of the students of the Bachelor of Nursing career who are in the fifth vertical year in intensive care was high, the coping strategies most used by them during the Covid 19 pandemic were social support, problem solving, professional support and emotional avoidance.
