Abstract

Innovation currently plays a fundamental role in confronting the economic crisis in a globalized world, where economic development is fostered, creating an environment that favors the diffusion of ideas to achieve social welfare through sustained economic growth. This review of the literature will contribute to the knowledge in the identification of the main concepts of innovation and its application in the development of new products. Today, innovation has become a priority of public policies, as well as an imperative need for large, small and medium - sized enterprises, both in business and in other sectors such as education, health, ecology and politics, among others. This topic is an important element because it encompasses processes related to the market, information and communication technologies, business activities, networks and competition, as well as skills, organizations, creativity and knowledge transfer. Its application can be given in any field of the organization (finance, administration,sales) in the case of the present investigation we will focus the study on the innovation in the products or services because the innovation allows the development of the same, maintaining acompetitiveness in the market obtaining economic, social, technological and prestige results.
