One of the current challenges for professionals in the field of librarianship, documentation and archiving is to promote academic and professional ethics practice. In this context, this research presents a theoretical approach to library ethics training emphasizing the way in which these professionals intervene in relation to their working environment. For this purpose, it has been taken as a reference to graduates of the Library Science, Documentation and Archive career at the Technical University of Manabí. The methodological approach of the present research is quantitative and a survey of this population group has been used for the analysis of results. The results are intended to define the level of relevance of ethics in the training of these professionals, how often they face ethical problems in their work, the most frequent problems it has encountered and whether it is aware of the legislation or legal regulations on the preservation of archives, access to information and protection of personal data. It is concluded that ethics must be put into practice in professional practice and that timely socialization is relevant to the various norms, rules and codes that pose a deontological perspective.
