Degradation of life: analysis of the increase in violence in Ecuador between the years 2020 – 2022

Life is the transversal axis of human rights that allows the rest of the rights and freedoms inherent to man to be extended, therefore, the Ecuadorian State must guarantee the security and personal integrity of its fellow citizens, adopting public measures that lead to a rapid and effective deceleration of the increase in violence in the national territory.The article's objective is to carry out an analysis of the increase in violence in Ecuador in the year 2021 - 2022 and the strategy used by the Central Government through public policies in citizen security strategies.The concern of International Organizations such as the United Nations on issues related to violence and citizen security is raised in meetings of government leaders, they have done so, placing greater emphasis since the post-war period (1939 - 1945).In 2015, world representatives took positions regarding development objectives until 2030 for nations. It is precisely in objective number 16 that it is determined that one of the serious threats to sustainable development is insecurity. The methodology used in the present investigation was qualitative, of analysis and synthesis, based on bibliographic sources. the types of security that were visualized as a result are economic, food, health, environmental, political, personal, and community security, tending as the main threats are poverty, hunger, physical violence, environmental degradation, disease, ethnic and racial tension, and police repression.
