The study focuses on developing a prototype web application for validating and issuing certificates in higher education using blockchain technology. It begins with a thorough analysis of existing literature employing the PRISMA methodology, establishing a framework for its application in the education sector and examining implications for educational institutions. The methodology's benefits include cost reduction, optimized processing times, and a positive impact on the authenticity and reliability of academic certificates. The prototype was developed using the SCRUM software development methodology, enabling evaluation in a controlled environment. Additionally, technologies such as Ganache, Python, and MongoDB were employed for a detailed examination of the application's functionality and performance. Preliminary results suggest that blockchain technology has significantly enhanced security, transparency, and efficiency in certificate issuance and validation within the education sector. This study provides valuable insights into the adoption of technological innovations in higher education.
