Internationalization as a strategic process for universities is a way to achieve quality academic standards. In times of COVID-19, it has turned out to be one of the main challenges facing higher education. Therefore, we present the experience of the University of Havana, facing this pandemic. That is why the objective of the work is to analyze the incidence of COVID-19 in the quality management of the internationalization process at the University of Havana. The methodology used was based on the documentary analysis and the synthesis of specialized literature on the topics addressed, the observation and the experience of the authors in these months of quarantine and social distancing. Cuba and its higher education system have prepared to respond to the new scenario imposed by the appearance of COVID-19, through the implementation of educational policies. From there, the University of Havana drew up a series of actions that have allowed the adjustment of teaching calendars, the contribution from research to eliminate the spread of the pandemic, collaboration with results of innovation, taking care of students and teaching and non-teaching workers, all with the guarantee of the continuity of training activities when the epidemiological situation allows it. At present, the COVID-19 pandemic leaves complex goals for the university community, from this point on, the University of Havana will draw up strategies to ensure that the internationalization process continues to maintain the quality standards that it had presented up to now.
