Comparative analysis of methodologies and technological tools for Business Intelligence processes aimed at decision making

As time goes by, business intelligence acquires greater importance and demands greater competence in organizations. Nowadays,
companies have the need to apply methodologies that adapt and integrate in a positive way, taking into consideration that each
business has its own processes and certain activities, that is why this article focuses on determining as a strategic weapon a
comparison of the Bill Inmon and Ralph Kimball methodologies, the deductive method was applied which allowed specifying the
important attributes of business intelligence in turn through An analysis of the most important characteristics, taking evaluation
parameters, the capacity for improvement, the degree of compliance, objectives and satisfaction, advances in information technology
offer tools of great capacity that have been developed for this purpose, it is intended to establish a strategic analysis of the Business
Intelligence technology tools most used in order to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses in order to achieve improvement in
decision-making and strategic vision in terms of productivity of organizations. As a result, the Ralph Kimball methodology was
obtained with greater capacity and characteristics to guarantee the use of data quickly and in less implementation time, likewise the
BI tool with the highest percentage of strengths was PowerBI, due to its business vision, ease of use and visualization and integration
of data. The methodologies and business intelligence tools are of vital importance because they allow good production planning in
each process management, and cost optimization thus giving an improvement in decision making.
