Implementation of a Business Intelligence solution applied to the Supply of Workforce

The nickel extraction process in Cuba is in charge of two mineral processing plants, located in the northeastern region of the country. The human capital necessary to operate these industries is guaranteed through the workforce supply service, carried out by a service provider entity. However, the process presents deficiencies that affect the decision-making processes in this area, hence the need to use innovative techniques to solve the identified problems. Business Intelligence (BI) is presented as an alternative solution for this context, since it provides a set of technologies and tools aimed at transforming data into knowledge for decision-making in organizations. This work describes the development of a computer tool with Business Intelligence techniques that will support decision-making in the Labor Force Supply service to the Cuban nickel industries. As methodologies for the implementation of the proposed solution, Hefesto and the Functionality-Driven Development Methodology were selected, and the SpagoBI platform as the main tool. The results obtained with the application are valued positively at expert criteria and through black box tests, since it is considered a higher stage in the computerization of nickel companies.
